If you’ve ever been to Meow Wolf, you know that just the exhibits themselves are eclectic, vibrant and trippy to say the least. A magical place where everyone is bound to find something that catches their eye and that interests them, Denver’s Meow Wolf Convergence Station is an incredible other-worldly experience alone. But add some music to the mix and it’s going to be on a different level.

The event I attended was the latest of Meow Wolf’s Danceportation events at Convergence Station – a full takeover event full of rave-style fun, where the entire experience is open, infused with music and dancing, and hosted by a world-class set of musicians. This time, it was hosted by World -EDM -Dance/Dub extravaganza, Beats Antique. The trio of David Satori, Sidecar Tommy Cappel, and Zoë Jakes have been creating and spreading heady global beats for years, and their music  transformed the entire experience into an even more fantastic planet.

There was a Beats Antique set that fit the general vibe of the art surrounding them in each exhibit.

Rather than just a “typical performance” in the Perplexiplex, Meow Wolf and Beats Antique produced something more fitting to its wild environment. In most of the exhibits, there was an artist performing a set that fit the general vibe of the art surrounding them. Such brilliant attention to detail made the whole magical event even more immersive, the whole place pounding and throbbing with sick beats that almost lifted all of the spectators off the ground – or so it seemed.

Walking through the crowds of C-Street with David Satori’s DJ set playing, happening upon a group of eccentric belly (and other) dancers is exactly the type of experience that makes Convergence Station what it is. The whole experience made for a perfect all-night activity (the event lasted until way into the early morning). Don’t ever pass up a chance to ‘danceport’ yourself to the next Danceportation at Convergence Station – it’ll change your world.

And, a little intergalactic space bird tells me there’s one coming up on June 1st! Make your travel plans….
