A Musical Manifesto of 2023 – Act IV

Act 4 kicks off with Lee Gamble’s She’s Not with they lyric “Dancing better in your eyes” stinging. Back on the pop that gives us all hope for love with Kenya Grace’s Strangers. Digging back in emotions with Christina and the Queens song To Be Honest being reworked by Paul Woolford. I think Georgia screaming/collaborating with Master Peace in the anthem I Might Be Fake, followed by Joy Anonymous with Joy (Make Some Noise For Yourselves) works as well navigate our crazy lives – moving from fake to love to joy.

Dang – a new song by Caroline Polachek – comes into our Musical Manifesto with her artistry that keeps us on the edge of our seat.

MY SONG OF 2023 comes in now as Ass Clap with all of 872 monthly listeners found my feed with Too Many Chances, and this shit has been on repeat for me since. Just a beat driving passionate song that is so freaking fun. 

Dang – a new song by Caroline Polachek – comes in with her artistry that keeps us on the edge of our seat. This leads us Jockstrap’s I Touch remixed by band member Taylor Skye which stands toe-to-toe with CP. Tell Me What You Need by Barry Can’t Swim with just lil smoothes the edges for a minute, until DJ HEARTSTRINGS get In the City by Charlie XCX and Sam Smith turnt up.

Two of my favorites team up as Vitesse X is recruited for TDJ’s Infiniti 3’s song Into Dream. The tag team is unreal and even more than we could have hoped for.

OIivia Rodrigo wants to get him back! in a perfect description of on and off again passion. NEIL FRANCES makes ready the beat for DRAMA to power the Energy, then The Blessed Madonna, Joy Anonymous, and the amazing Daniell Ponder raise the faith with Carry Me Higher. Soak it up listeners.  Fred again.. enlists Jozzy for ten to keep the year bearing fruit. Romy finishes her domination of 2023 with a pairing with Paramore on the song Liar. Hayley Williams and her set a high bar that is challenged by Holly Macve and Lan Del Ray’s duet in Suburban Home. 

The treasure Run Away by TDJ and MRD can’t bring more joy as we move and bob to the music.

We finish with one more run of the best songs of 2023, starting with Hannah Diamond’s one-of-a-kind No FX. Sofia Kourtesis has a vibe unlike others and offers the song Cecilia to the celebration.  One Last Call from Nico de Andrea, Tensnake, and Lola Melita gets us closer to the end, but I’ve been waiting (for 2 long) by Martha Elisabeth with an amazing guest in Hyd keeps us going. 

Finish the year strong with remixes: the first, Jaques Greene’s take on So Alive by Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Moullinex then Barry Can’t Swim reworking Disclosure’s Higher Than Ever Before. The treasure Run Away by TDJ and MRD can’t bring more joy as we move and bob to the music. 

Stronger Together by Sabrina the Teenage DJ comes in to celebrate all we find with each other.

Winding it down we finish with Soccer Mommy’s cover of Taylor Swift’s I’m Only Me When I’m With You then Holly Humberstone’s Kissing in Swimming Pools.
