Global Dance Fest Celebrates 20 Years of EDM this Weekend at Empower Field – Don’t Miss it!

Now in its 20th year, Global Dance Fest once again comes to Mile High Stadium/Empower Field this weekend, July 21st and 22nd. Don’t miss it – there’s really no other show quite like it. The impressive lineup features about 45 EDM bands over the two days, from new “You’ll wish you’d seen them in the day” up & comers to some of the masters of the whole genre. They’ll be trading beats, bass drops, and wild dance music both nights, and they’re here to please you, and share in the love of EDM music.
A friend asked me to write down what I think of Global Dance Fest – after attending 2017, 2018 and the even the rained-out 2019 shows! Oh man, the memories never stop!
The first thing is the ‘energy’ – boundless waves ecstatic, sunny, pumping energy surrounding Mile High Stadium/Empower Field parking lot. The lot is covered with stages, rides and plenty of concession stands selling delicious foods of every kind, as well as loads of wub candy, to so many smiling faces!
When I cruise through the crowd with my camera and catch the looks on all of these EDM fans faces when I ask (or should I say Yell!) “Hey guys give me a shot!?” At that moment when they and all their friends gather together – dressed in outlandish, colorful, and incredibly beautiful outfits for the occassion – and they’re so thankful and excited to be seen! It’s always followed by sheer happiness and excitement like my picture would be etched deep into their memories, if not forever, for a damned long time.
Another one of my other favorite memories of Global Dance is capturing some kid trancing in his own little world, experiencing the sheer power of the heavy EDM Bass Beats pounding throughout their body – dancing to the rhythm of their own universe.
These are just just a couple of random, rich memories I have – examples of the beauty and excitement of Global Dance Fest. And this year, being the 20th anniversary show, promises to be even more of a wild spectacle!
