Denver insiders filled the Bluebird Theater to visit blazing hot Magdalena Bay’s Mercurial World concert. It was a dance party, a rock show, and visit to another dimension.

The act Mica Tennebaum and Matthew Lewin have released one studio album plus its deluxe edition, two eps, and string of singles. These songs fill the heart and move the feet, but who knew how much they rocked out? Matt is truly a rock and roll ax man. Combining this with the synth-driven songs and touring drummer Nick Villa heavy beats, the crowd moved to the killer vibes.

Magdalena Bay’s Mercurial World concert was a dance party, a rock show, and visit to another dimension.

Monitoring the party was the curious Chaeri, an artificial intelligent being who was in conversation with Mica to learn how to feel – and we all found the passion in that indie pop noise. Chaeri even moved into the scene as a robot crashing the party. A party that delivered a ton of the act’s songs. You Lose!, Secrets … Your Fire, and Dreamcatching got the entire crowd crazy in the perfection of the Bluebird temple.

When Mag Bay play Red Rocks earlier this year, the set mostly followed the Mercurial World playlist. This night the crowd was treated to the amazing Venice, a groover that takes you to LA. Then the trio of How to Get Physical, Sky2Fall, and Body has the sweat flying in the pit.

Millions of plays of the Tik Tok driven Kill Shot pulled everyone into the mosh…

The millions of plays of the Tik Tok driven Kill Shot pulled everyone into the mosh – especially when the slowed and chopped mix was dropped. Finally the encore featured an early track of Set Me Off, that just blew us all away with a thrilled insider feeling. So glad we got to see this band who will only get bigger.

BAYLI from Brooklyn opened up for Magdalena Bay with their rousing and catching rhythms that offered the Bluebird audience, who were lip synching and jamming to their very cool and sweet sounds. BAYLI – who developed her sound with the help of music legend Rick Rubin – kept the music grooving for the very enjoyable set. Enjoy their slideshow below.
